Building Big Dreams from Bhopal: A Member Story at Oneworx

Atharva Kulkarni | Product Manager at Vitraya

A quiet city.
A focused mind.
A place to build.

For Atharva Kulkarni, building products has always been about solving meaningful problems — not chasing noise.

Born and brought up in Bhopal, Atharva works as a Product Manager, currently building products in the healthcare space. His work involves deep problem-solving, constant brainstorming, and close collaboration with his team — the kind of work that demands clarity and calm.

“I try to wake up every day and solve a new problem,” he says.

From fintech to healthcare

Before healthcare, Atharva worked in fintech, helping people access funding and credit. It was challenging, fast-paced, and demanding — but it laid a strong foundation for how he approaches product thinking today. Each shift brought a new set of problems to solve. What remained constant was his curiosity and persistence.

Choosing to stay in Bhopal

While many professionals move cities to grow their careers, Atharva chose to stay. Bhopal, for him, offers something rare — balance. The hills, the lakes, the slower rhythm, the absence of chaos. A city where people look out for each other. “It’s peaceful. The air is fresh. There’s no constant rush — and that really helps.” This environment allows him to focus deeply, without feeling disconnected from ambition.

Finding the right workspace

As his team grew, Atharva began searching for a workspace that could support real work — not just provide desks. He explored multiple options. Some lacked basic amenities. Others were too small or required setting everything up from scratch. What he needed was simple: a space that worked.

That search led him to Oneworx. The first visit felt right — from the layout to the overall vibe. Soon after, his team moved in. Today, he works out of the Oneworx Narmadapuram space where focus comes naturally and logistics fade into the background.

The people make the place

Ask Atharva what he values most about Oneworx, and the answer isn’t infrastructure. It’s the people. Entrepreneurs, developers, CAs, marketers — all working side by side. Conversations flow easily. Learning happens organically. Collaboration isn’t forced; it just happens. “It feels like a place where you find friends,” he says. “A good balance between work and life.”

Community that shows up

Beyond conversations, the community has shown real support. From networking to hiring, Atharva has found people willing to step in and help. During a hiring phase, fellow members helped shortlist resumes, take interviews, and find the right talent. On slow days, seeing others work with intent becomes motivation. On difficult days, support comes without asking. It’s a reminder that strong ecosystems are built on people — not just spaces.

Building without leaving home

Atharva believes spaces like Oneworx make it possible to build ambitious careers without leaving your hometown. Good infrastructure. Access to talent. A supportive community. “That’s how ecosystems start,” he says. “And that’s how cities grow.” Just like Bangalore once did — he believes Bhopal is ready for its next leap.

A note to his younger self

If he could give one piece of advice to his younger self, it would be this:

Approach life with perspective. Not every challenge needs to be taken so seriously, and not every uncertainty deserves anxiety. Stay focused on the work, continue learning, and remain consistent in your efforts. Progress will follow. Above all, avoid overanalyzing the journey - growth comes from persistence, patience, and finding balance along the way.
